Eileen Fisher Fall 2013

Eileen Fisher, the popular American women’s clothing line just opened in Chinook Centre. Though the brand is represented at Holt Renfrew and Blu’s in Calgary, this is only the second freestanding location in Canada. I recently checked out the 30-year old brand that’s well loved among women looking for a sharp and functional wardrobe, and I’ve gotta say, it’s classy.

This type of clothing is meant to be the cornerstone of your wardrobe. The pieces are fashionable, yet (dare I say) practical. With sensual fabrics and clean lines designed to move with all aspects of our busy lives, you can see how easy it would be to become addicted to these timeless staples.

The minimalist, sleek fashions made me feel grown up – something (despite having a child), I’m not used to feeling. I don’t have wardrobe stapes. I don’t really know how to layer classic pieces with other pieces to suit my individual style. But here, it would be easy to simply that whole process.

One thing to note, is that 25% of their line is eco-friendly. They use organic cotton and employ ethical business practices, something we all know the majority of the fashion industry does not. Kudos to them and their pioneering ways.

Interested in seeing what all the fuss is about? Head here this Saturday, September 21 to enjoy free refreshments and $25 off purchases. 10% of all sales will go towards the Calgary branch of the Women in Leadership foundation. See you there!

I’m curious. What are your wardrobe staples?

Cute! Curious to know what kind of shoes you wear when baking. Crocs like Mario?
