Safe Spray Tan

When you’re pasty white like me, you don’t want to hit the beach looking like a ghost. The solution is a tan. A safe tan. I don’t want to hit a tanning bed, and hours on the beach will only turn me into a lobster. That’s why I made a bee-line for Sundrops Spray Tanning Studio, to get a chemical-free tan before our vacation.

Sundrops
Sundrops sports a fun, tropical vibe.

How long will this spray tan last, you ask? I went for the Capri tan that’s recommended for those in frequent contact with chlorinated or salt water. Plunging into pools and oceans, this tan can last up to six days. Without pool action, you could be bronze for up to two weeks. Can you imagine?

What is a safe spray tan?

The solution is professionally applied by a technician using a spray gun. The gun shoots out a soft mist with compressed air, that’s slightly cooling and not at all uncomfortable. It takes about five minutes to apply, and viola, you’re golden. The result is a uniform tan, that’s not streaky or Tara Reid-orange.

The Sundrops solution is why I went this route. It isn’t made up of fillers or synthetic ingredients. It’s compromised of good stuff for the skin like water, aloe, green tea and vegetable glycerin. Phew! No guilt here.

Travel kit
Tote this travel kit to stay bronzed your entire vacay.

To ensure my golden glow, I’ve taken the Sundrops travel kit with me on holiday. It comes with body wash and moisturizer (clients are encouraged to use all-natural products like these, to preserve their tan). Also in the kit is tan extender lotion and a bottle of their solution, so you can touch up frequently washed areas that tend to fade faster, like the face, feet and hands.

What to Do Before You Spray Tan

  • Shower and exfoliate your skin
  • Shave your legs and pits (and wherever else you fancy)
  • Don’t apply moisturizer or deodorant (nobody wants green armpits)

Tips to Make Your Spray Tan Last Longer

  • Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!
  • Don’t spend hours in the tub. Save languorous soaks for after your glow has worn off.
  • Don’t bathe your babies or wash dishes the day you get sprayed. I think we can handle that, can’t we?
