Are you a big Toronto Blue Jays fan? To be honest, I’m not a huge sports fan, but I love all the theatre surrounding any professional sports game. You know, the dressing up in team colours, snacking on themed food and making game day inspired cocktails.

Polar Ice is the official Canadian vodka of the Toronto Blue Jays, and to celebrate the Jays coming back to play in Canada (after such a loooong time on the road), they’ve come up with a new new game day ritual: The Polar Leadoff.

Baseball Cocktail

The Polar Leadoff is a pre-game baseball cocktail that’s refreshing, easy to make and bleeds blue just like any true Jays fan. Crafted by notable Toronto mixologist, Danielle Yoon, it’s hits it out of the park with a fun popcorn topper that you may prefer to eat while mixing up your cocktail.

The popcorn’s just for show. Or you could also serve your Polar Leadoff with a metal straw.

Here’s the recipe:

  • Fill a tall glass with lots of ice
  • 1 oz Polar Ice Vodka
  • 1/4 oz blue curaçao
  • 4-5 oz sparkling lemonade

Top with popcorn if you want to save it on the ‘gram (but I’d rather eat it:)

If you have a baseball fan in your crew, you’ll want to pick up one of these limited edition Polar Ice bottles. It makes for a fun hostess gift.
