T’was the Night

I’m feeling so festive, thanks to the ‘Twas the Night shopping event, held at The Core last night. The evening started off with a bang, as fireworks burst through the mall prior to the massive Christmas tree being lit.

The Core Christmas
Almost lit!

Christmas at The CORE

Christmas at The CORE is magical – especially on T’was the Night. We listened to the Calgary Boy’s Choir and the atmosphere was just like what I imagine being in Rockefeller Center is like, when they light their Christmas tree.

Now it’s lit!

Then it was off to watch snippets from Alberta Ballet’s The Nutcracker. If you haven’t got your tickets yet, you really should consider it. I’ve taken my girl to their Saturday matinee every year since she was three. It’s our Christmas tradition.

We get tickets to the Nutcracker every year.

Christmas shopping at The CORE

And since we were at The CORE, one of Calgary’s top malls, a spot of Christmas shopping was in order. I always find great gift ideas from Rocky Mountain Soap Company. They’re local, have great product and each Christmas come out with a fab, festive line. I’m quite partial to their Vanilla Candy Cane Bath Salts (a steal at $5.50) and the Sugar Pear Body Scrub ($23), in case you happen to have me on your list….

Smells incredible!

Eve and I finished off the evening cruising through Holts and making some necessary adjustments to their Christmas tree.

Just a bit of rearranging!

I’m pretty sure Twas the Night is going to become another holiday tradition in this household. Join me next year?
