Best gaming system for travel

When traveling, it’s always a good idea to have something with you that can totally take your mind off travel delays and stresses. You’re probably familiar with Nintendo Switch, Nintendo’s hugely popular video game system that you can play on your TV or on the go.

They’ve just launched Nintendo Switch Lite. It’s sleek and lightweight – making it perfect to stash in carry-on luggage. It’s a totally compact system, built specifically for handheld play, with the controls built right in, so you can jump into your favourite games wherever you happen too be.

Play on the go, anywhere, anytime.

Of course, a great system is only as good as its games – and two of the biggest games launching just in time for holiday are Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. These are the very first core Pokémon games to launch on Nintendo Switch.

They take place in a whole new region with loads of new Pokémon to catch, battle and trade. Plus, Pokémon can even become huge with the new Dynamax feature which has fans super excited! Anyone you know with a Nintendo Switch – or who’s getting a Nintendo Switch Lite for Christmas is going to want these games to go with it.

Vichy Minéral 89

Travel-size toiletries are a great stocking stuffer, and you definitely want to travel with quality products so you feel and look your best after a long day of travel. Vichy Minéral 89, is a hydrating daily booster, which means it  goes under your moisturizer.

It keeps your skin super moisturized in flight because it’s got Vichy Mineralizing Thermal Water and hyaluronic acid to strengthen your skin’s barrier function. And because it’s under under 100 ml, it’s the perfect addition to any carry-on bag.

Despite being in my 40s, I still get pimples, which is why I appreciate water-based formulas so much.

VICHY Mineral 89 Eyes

We all know how jet lag can make us look worse for the wear – especially around our eyes. VICHY Mineral 89 Eyes is a repairing fortifier with pure caffeine in it. Caffeine is actually an antioxidant and has vaso-constrictive properties.

VICHY Mineral 89 Eyes is a non-greasy, gel formula (just like VICHY Mineral 89) that brightens the area and decreases the look of dark circles. Put it on before long flight and you’re good to go, as it offers 24-hour hydration.

Best travel neck pillow

Comfort is key when you’re travelling and this is luxe Luna neck pillow is the bees knees. Made in Canadian by Volprive, it’s comprised of memory foam, so it really holds its shape, supporting your head and neck so you can rest easy even when you’re sitting up sitting up.

Best is its removable merino wool washable cover. Simply throw it in the washing machine after your flight to get those plane germs off.

I am so in love with this neck pillow!

Anytime you see products with this kind of extra-fine merino wool know that they’re great for travel. That’s because merino wool breathes and manages moisture better than any other fibre, so it lets humidity out and won’t trap odours.

Travelpro Crew carry on suitcase

This Travelpro Crew Versapack Max is one of the largest carry-on bags you can take onboard for domestic flights. I didn’t think it would, but it easily fit in the overhead bin on my Rouge flight from Calgary to Toronto.

I love it for its versatility. It’s got a variety of removable Zip-In Garment Organizers, which are ideal for storing folded shirts, dresses and jackets so they don’t get smushed.

Probably my favourite aspect of this bag (besides its size) is its removable TSA-compliant toiletries bag that stores perfectly in a exterior pocket. It’s even got a padded laptop pocket, too!

There are a lot of carry-on bags out there – from backpacks to rolling luggage. Travelpro Crew has been my personal go-to for years.

I seriously didn’t think I’d get this large carry-on bag in the bin on a domestic flight, but I did!
