Hotels near the Calgary Zoo
One of Calgary’s coolest activities is the Calgary Zoo. Even if you aren’t visiting the city solely for the zoo, these hotels with waterslides offer convenient access to many other attractions in the city.
When it comes to hotels near the zoo, your best bet is either downtown or just off Deerfoot Trial, one of the city’s main traffic arteries. The following hotels have waterslides and are perfectly positioned for speedy zoo access.
Sheraton Suites Calgary Eau Claire
Steps away from both Prince’s Island Park and downtown is the slightly upscale Sheraton Suites Calgary Eau Claire. This Sheraton has a large, indoor swimming pool, waterslide, fitness centre and pet-friendly accommodation.
This hotel is only an 8-minute drive from the zoo or you can take public transit via the C-train and not have to worry about parking. Since the hotel is set along the Bow River, you could rent bikes and peddle your way along the Bow River pathway all the way to the zoo.
Deerfoot Inn and Casino
Deerfoot Inn and Casino is a good option for anyone visiting South Calgary attractions. Hence its name, it’s located on Deerfoot trail, making it easily accessible to the zoo.
This hotel’s waterpark has a two-story waterslide, hot tub and a kid’s pool area with water toys and structures. The hotel also has many dining options and hosts concerts.

If you’re a true hotel pool enthusiast, or your children are, you might want to check out a Calgary hotel with a water park. These hotels often include waterslides but provide more than just a regular hotel pool experience. Here’s a few of our favourites.
Best Western Plus Port O’ Call
The Best Western Port O’ Call is situated just off of Deerfoot trail, making it easily accessible from the airport and a quick drive to many other attractions. Most importantly, Waves Water Park lies within the hotel.
This water park has 8,000 feet of adventure space including two waterslides, two hot tubs, a leisure pool and a wading pool. The waterpark is also exclusive to hotel guests, so count on it being quieter than any public waterpark in the city. The hotel offers free Wi-Fi and an airport shuttle for those not renting a car.
Sheraton Cavalier
The Sheraton Cavalier is situated near the airport, with downtown just a short drive away. It features the Oasis Waterpark, which includes a kiddie pool, leisure pool and two giant waterslides. The waterpark also includes a hot tub.
The waterslides exit into a separate location, which means no deep ends and no risk of getting hit by other swimmers. It also provides an airport shuttle, free Wi-Fi and pet-friendly options.
Calgary water parks
If you’re not fussed about having a waterslide at your hotel or you just want something fun to do while visiting Calgary, consider visiting an indoor water park. These parks are open year-round, so you can catch some waves even when there’s snow on the ground.
Trico Centre
Also in South Calgary, Trico Centre is a not-for-profit, community run, health and wellness facility. The Centre contains a fitness centre, aquatics centre, many multi-purpose rooms and a gymnasium. They also offer on-site childcare.
The aquatics centre includes a large wave pool, indoor waterslide with its own exit pool, kids’ area with toys and accessible access to both the pool and hot tub. General admission to the facility includes access to the aquatic centre, fitness centre and drop-in gymnasium.
Southland Leisure Centre
Situated in South Calgary, Southland Leisure Centre is one of city’s premier city-run facilities that includes a waterpark, weight training facilities, gymnastics classes, public skating and room rentals.
The price of general admission allows access to all facilities with in-and-out privileges. The waterpark is large and includes a wave pool with scheduled wave times, three large waterslides, kiddie pool, dive tank, diving boards, rope swing and an aquatic climbing structure with a 500-gallon dump bucket.
Tubes are also available for rent. Be sure to double check the schedule to ensure that you’re visiting on a public swim day.
Village Square Leisure Centre
The other waterpark facility run by the City, Village Square Leisure Centre, is located in Northeast Calgary. It contains facilities similar to Southland Leisure Centre.
This indoor waterpark sports a wave pool, two major waterslides, a Safari Splash Zone that includes dump buckets, small waterslides, rope bridges, plus a dive tank.
Village Square also includes a a kiddie pool, plus accessible pools for those with limited mobility. As with the other City of Calgary facilities, general admission allows for access to all amenities.
Other options for swimming include most Calgary YMCAs. Shane Homes YMCA at Rocky Ridge has a wave pool with waterside, a lazy river, plus a hot tub.
Airdrie hotels with waterslides
If you’re visiting Northern Calgary or the surrounding area, Airdrie is a great place to stay. The city is close to the Calgary Airport, Cross Iron Mills Shopping Mall and offers many of its own shops and walking paths. Here are a couple of Aidrie hotels with waterslides.
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Airdrie
This hotel is located just off of the main highway (QEII) that runs through Airdrie all the way up to Edmonton.With its proximity to the Calgary airport, this hotel is a good option if you need to be in the city.

Ramada in Airdrie
Airdrie’s Ramada is a good choice for sports teams and shoppers. The hotel is located right next to the two largest sports facilities in the area and is quite close to Airdrie and Balzac shopping options.

Canmore hotels with waterslides
If you’re heading out to the Rockies, you don’t have to leave the waterslides behind. Not only does Canmore have its own indoor waterpark, there are also a few hotels that have waterslides and indoor pools.
Grande Rockies Resort
Just off of the Trans-Canada Highway, Grande Rockies Resort is a beautiful hotel, perfect for anyone looking to explore Canmore or Banff.
It includes a heated indoor swimming pool and indoor/outdoor hot tub and a kids pool with a waterslide. There is also an on-site restaurant, free Wi-Fi and underground heated parking.
Sunset Resorts
A short walk from downtown Canmore and a 15-minute drive to Banff, Sunset Resorts itself doesn’t have a pool or a waterslide, but the Paradise Resorts Club building directly across from the property does and you can access it.
The Paradise Resorts Club has a pool, kiddie pool, hot tub and waterslide. Sunset Resorts has beautiful villas with everything you need for your stay in Canmore. You can even choose a room with your own hot tub!
Pocaterra Inn and Waterslide
With a name like Pocaterra Inn and Waterslide, you know you’re staying in the right place for waterslide lovers! The hotel has an indoor pool with a waterslide, a hot tub and a sauna. Rooms also come with complimentary hot breakfast, free Wi-Fi and free parking.
Banff hotels with waterslides
There is only one Banff hotel with a waterslide, but in the heart of the Rockies, there are plenty of other amazing things to do. Still, if you’re looking to stay somewhere with a waterslide to wind down after a long day, you do have a great option
Douglas Fir Resort
This family-friendly Banff resort doesn’t just have one waterslide, it has two! The indoor waterpark at Douglas Fir Resort includes two giant indoor waterslides, a kiddie pool, and a huge 24-person hot tub.
If you’re just visiting Banff, you can also pay their general admission prices for the waterpark. They also have an indoor playground (separate from the pool area) and an outdoor hot tub.
